JAPANESE INFILTRATION SQUAD

Four Japanese soldiers sprint across the road. Once they’re in the heavy brush, they move slowly, careful of each foot placement. Finding a game trail, they take it south. None are wearing NOGs.

BUFORD

He hears four warning clicks on the radio from his sniper. Four Japanese crossed the road close to their position. Romeo and Salty slip out from under the bush. The Japanese stop, listening. Buford and Salty freeze. They see the four Japanese clearly in their NOG’s. After a long wait, the Japanese move forward.

Romeo and Salty each pick one of the Japanese in the rear and match the men’s foot falls. Romeo and Salty slip their knives from their scabbards. Two steps and Romeo thrusts the point into the base of his targets skull, severing his spinal cord. Salty slits the throat of his man.

The two soldiers in front hear the gurgling noise of Salty’s kill and spin, lifting their rifles.

Romeo jumps forward, pushing a rifle away. He sinks his knife into the man’s heart and twists. The Japanese lets out a startled gasp, pushing weakly against him. Buford pushes the man off his knife, avoiding the man’s gaze. The Japanese sinks to the ground.

Salty dispatches the other soldier. They quickly search the bodies for intel, then hide them under the foliage. Using water from the Japanese canteens, they rinse the blood from their uniforms. They slip back toward the road and hide under another bush.
